Cavco Construction
Cavco homes are built in a controlled factory environment where prime building materials are used to construct homes in an assembly line process.  The economies of large volume raw material purchases, less waste and efficient use of skilled labor combined with the opportunity to closely control quality through continuous inspection, enables us to build high-quality homes at lower cost than can be achieved with on-site construction methods.  In addition, the time required to build your home is shorter and the production process is more environmentally friendly then building on site.

Features of Cavco construction
Each Cavco home is built by skilled craftsman who transform wood, steel, copper, gypsum wallboard and many other top grade raw materials – into quality homes. At a glance, our building process looks like this:
  • Steel cross members and outriggers are welded to massive I beams to form the base frame. The base is engineered to support the weight of the home and meet federal building codes.
  • Floor joists are placed over the base frame, and insulation, heat ducts, and plumbing are installed.
  • The flooring is fastened and glued to the floor joists.
  • While the floor is constructed, walls are built. For extra strength and stability, sturdy gypsum wallboard is both nailed and glued to the wall studs.
  • Once walls are installed, truss rafters are attached and high-grade insulation is added in the ceiling.
  • Roof decking, roofing paper and asphalt base fiberglass shingles are installed.
  • The cabinet shop builds custom cabinetry, which is installed while the home is on the production line.
  • Exterior siding and windows are installed and trim is added.
  • All homes are continuously inspected to make sure walls, ceiling, and floor fit properly, plumbing and electrical systems operate as intended and all other aspects of the home meet or exceed code requirements.
Energy Efficiency
Cavco builds energy efficient homes; many models offer upgrades such as walls with R19 insulation, vinyl windows, up to R-42 in the roof and much more. Because Cavco is a qualified Energy Star builder, we offer the option of building your home to the energy saving standards of the Federal Government’s Energy Star program.
