Quality Construction and Craftsmanship

We test and inspect every home we build throughout the construction process to ensure each home meets our rigid quality standards, which often exceed local or federal building regulations.

A Cavco Home is Move-In Ready, FAST.

Because every phase of the home construction process is completed at a building facility, we aren’t subject to delays due to inclement weather or theft of building materials. This means your Cavco home is move-in ready in a surprisingly efficient timeframe.

How Our Manufactured and Modular Homes Are Constructed.

Cavco’s skilled craftsmen and craftswomen accomplish every facet of the homebuilding process with the utmost care. Following are a few highlights of our home building process:

  1. First, steel cross members and outriggers are welded to steel I-beams to form each rugged and durable base frame. Base frames are engineered to support the weight of each home and to meet or exceed federal building codes and most local building codes.

  2. Floor joists are securely attached to the base frame, after which insulation, HVAC ducts and plumbing pipes are installed.

  3. Flooring is fastened and glued to the floor joists.

  4. While the home’s frame is being constructed, internal and external walls are built. For added strength and stability, sheetrock is securely nailed and glued to wall studs.

  5. After walls are installed, roof truss rafters are attached, and insulation is installed.

  6. Roof sheathing and roofing paper are attached to the truss rafters and tar sealed for added protection. Shingles are then attached to the roof.

  7. All interior finish work is done, including the installation of cabinetry, molding, flooring, tiles and appliances and fixtures.

  8. Siding is mounted to external walls, and windows are set in place.

  9. Multi-section factory-built homes are carefully inspected to ensure seams are secured and patterns match.

  10. Final inspections are conducted, and your beautiful, Cavco factory-built home is prepared for transportation.

Another benefit of a Cavco manufactured or modular home is that it is completed and transported to, and inspected at, the home site in days, not weeks or months.

Cavco Manufactured and Modular Homes — Great for Families, Budgets and The Environment.

Cavco’s green, environmentally friendly homebuilding process benefits the environment today and will for years to come. Green home construction is important because homes in the United States consume approximately 25% of the energy we use and 75% of the water. Green construction is about using smarter building methods and energy efficient materials to not only save money, but to also help lower utility bills and to reduce the impact on our environment.

While building the industry’s best manufactured and modular homes, Cavco also focuses on the efficient use of materials and has developed innovative ways to reduce waste and use less energy.

Designed for sustainable living.

The ENERGY STAR® Program

The United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) ENERGY STAR® products are designed to help protect and preserve our environment while also reducing consumers’ utility bills. Cavco’s focus on ENERGY STAR® is another of the many examples of our focus on building energy efficient manufactured, modular and park model homes, including Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
