1959 Nationwide Homes is founded and begins building and shipping homes and builder kits throughout the United States.
1969 Nationwide begins building modular homes and expands into the southern and mid-Atlantic states.
1976 The first Owner Completion Program is introduced, which allows homeowners to enjoy “instant equity” from their home investment.
1982 Nationwide Homes is recognized as one of the largest builders of condominium and apartment projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
1986 Nationwide expands its Mid-Atlantic reach, from Georgia to New Jersey.
1994 Nationwide Homes is named “Builder of the Year” by the Home Builders Association of Virginia.
1995 Nationwide Homes builds its 20,000th modular home.
1996 Nationwide Homes opens a new, state-of-the-art building facility in Martinsville, VA.
1999 Nationwide Homes enters the Florida market and acquires Arabi Homes in Arabi, GA, which increases its homebuilding capacity by 50%.
1999 Nationwide Homes earns the “Excellence in Model Home Design Award” from the Building Systems Council for its following models — Charleston, TARA, Auburn, Jefferson and Downington.
2001 Nationwide Homes designs and builds a modular home that withstands winds up to 175 MPH in the Florida Keys.
2003 Nationwide Homes builds its 30,000th modular home.
2004 Nationwide Custom Homes acquires a new building facility in Siler City, NC, to meet increasing demands for its modular homes.
2005 Nationwide Custom Homes designs and builds “Energy Efficient & Green Rated” modular Townhomes, introducing the homes at the International Builder Show (IBS) in Orlando, FL. 
2005 Nationwide Custom Homes builds a 5,200 square foot modular home (the Bonita model) in 12 days and wins “Best in Show” at IBS.
2006 Nationwide Custom Homes builds a 6,200 square foot modular home (the Captiva model) in 18 days and wins “Best in Show” at the 2006 IBS Show.
2007 Nationwide Homes builds its first deluxe Design Center at its headquarters in Martinsville, VA.
2008 Nationwide Homes opens its Midwest Sales Division and builds a satellite Design Center in Jeffersonville, OH.
2009 Nationwide Homes celebrates its 50th anniversary with its “Good as Gold” Celebration.
2010 Nationwide Homes builds the first modular home featured on the hit show ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
2011 Nationwide Homes builds its 35,000th modular home for Mr. and Mrs. Welsh of Axton, VA. Their home, a Bedford model, was constructed on August 18th, 2011.
2022 Nationwide Homes (now a Cavco Industries, Inc. affiliate), wins the Manufactured Housing Institute’s (MHI) inaugural 2022 “Community Impact Project of the Year” award for its Five Points Neighborhood Initiative in Martinsville, Virginia.
2023 Cavco is a proud sponsor at the 2023 Manufactured Housing Institute’s (MHI) “Homes on the Hill” advocacy initiative. The event is held in Washington, D.C., and Cavco-Nationwide’s Sanibel Duplex is featured. Cavco’s participation is a collaboration with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Innovative Housing Showcase.
2024 Nationwide Homes supports local communities after Hurricane Helene.
