Meet Cavco - Dorchester, formerly known as Midcountry Homes.

Located in Dorchester, Wisconsin, Cavco - Dorchester joined the Cavco family in 2019. We bring the latest manufactured and modular home-building technologies, a dedicated management team and an experienced manufactured home builder network together to provide exceptional homes for our customers. Our homes are customizable and durable, offering customers an affordable way to own high-quality manufactured and modular homes they love.

As a system-built home builder, Cavco - Dorchester leverages advanced equipment, a climate-controlled environment and rigorous daily quality control checks – all guided by a dedicated management team and highly experienced craftsmen.  Our homes are constructed both by hand and using sophisticated tools, precision jigs, and the latest technology to ensure exceptional quality in every build. By building homes inside our climate-controlled factories rather than outside in the open elements (like in rain, snow, sleet or extreme heat,) Cavco - Dorchester eliminates quality and timing issues caused by weather and weather-related delays common in the Midwest. Cavco - Dorchester can build consistently, year-round, without delays while avoiding many other climate-related lumber and material issues. Because our process enables us to build manufactured and modular homes more efficiently, our homeowners can move into their homes faster.

Quality and durability are key reasons why people buy Cavco manufactured and modular homes. A dedicated quality control team inspects homes daily throughout the construction process. All of our manufactured and modular homes are built to HUD or state and local building codes. Independent third-party inspection agencies provide another level of quality control, inspecting and approving homes while they are being built.

Cavco - Dorchester Partners with Livasu to Create Future of Dementia Care

Cavco - Dorchester has partnered with Dementia Innovations - Livasu on a life-changing, first-of-its-kind (in the U.S.) project. Cavco - Dorchester just delivered the first of 124 custom–designed homes they are building for Livasu, a new innovative community designed to support people living with dementia. Livasu will provide an alternative to traditional care facilities by enabling homeowners to live with more freedom than they often have in traditional facilities.

Livasu – short for “Living As Usual” – represents a revolutionary model for dementia care. The 79–acre development will include 124 privately owned homes clustered into pocket neighborhoods, each surrounding a walkable village center with a grocery store, mail center, gym, salon, sunroom, theater, community center, spa, ice cream shop and restaurant. On-site healthcare professionals will provide different levels of care depending on each resident’s unique needs. Each home features universal design principles required by Livasu – including no steps (zero entry), 36-inch doors, lever-style handles, wide hallways and open layouts with cathedral ceilings – to promote mobility and comfort at every stage of dementia.
